In 2010, I did a 52 weeks blogging challenge, where I blogged about a particular prompt once a week for a year. I had so much fun with it, that when 2011 started, I was ready to do it again. I was ready for a new challenge, this time with color.
My personal 52 Colors Project is a mix of three of my favorite things – blogging, photography, and color. Having a task to focus on helps me blog, taking photos regularly helps me learn my camera, and finding a weekly color helps me document my life.
I created The 52 Colors Project Kit for those out there who want to do a similar color challenge. Included in the digital kit are two layered PSD templates, a set of weekly titles, and a short booklet with instructions, tips, and prompts. The templates themselves are sized at 800 pixels wide and 72 dpi, perfect for even the largest blog layout and online use. I’ve included the very same file I use in my own personal 52 Colors Project, along with a brand new template. If you’re ready to buy, click the Add to Cart button below. Please note before purchasing: In order to use the templates, you will need either regular Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. Any version of either program will do, but I do want to be clear before you buy that you do need one of those two programs; I don’t want you to be disappointed.

One thing I felt was missing in creative business discussions was an open discussion about pricing. There are tons of great blogs out there that talk about the ins and outs of running a creative or artistic business, but pricing is something approached with reluctance. So, in March 2011, I wrote down my own experiences as a small business owner. An Artist’s Guide to Pricing tackles the big questions – how do artists approach pricing, what goes into a price, what should a price be, and how do artists value their own work.
