…is actually being prepared to work!
There’s been a couple of times (okay, okay, more than a couple) where I’ve questioned my choice of theme for this month. I’m especially wincing over this particular post where I gleefully listed all of the things I wanted to let go of, because, once again, the universe/Karma has decided to test my willingness and willpower to actually make the changes I said I wanted.

Turns out, I wasn’t really ready to, you know, work on it or anything.
Not to be all self-inflated, but my habit of procrastination is totally an art form. I’m so good at procrastinating that I’m finding it a really tough habit to break, let me tell you.
I could claim that part of it is just resting and taking the time I need, and that’d be semi-correct. I do need this resting time, definitely, for myself and my brain. But then it gets to that point where I know it’s no longer relaxing, it’s indulging. That point is characterized by the ability to put off work in order to devour three books in a week, ordering take-out every day while online shopping because I can’t be bothered to change out of my pajamas to go buy groceries, and the inability to get to bed before dawn.
I’m very, very good at indulging myself.
In total self-disgust and guilt, I sat down last week and started tackling my list of projects. I almost immediately gave up, because I was reminded about the amount of work involved, but I didn’t (go me!). In an effort to keep that ball rolling, and because I’m sure several of you are wondering when exactly I’m going to get the destash beads listed and make some progress on the Elements eclass I was talking about, I’m taking the week off from blogging to focus and work.
In the mean time, may I offer some favorite posts from the archives for your reading pleasure?
If I get myself into shape by Friday, I’ll be back with a color palette. If not, see you next week!

Hahaha! Yeah, two paragraphs in, and I’m thinking, “I’m going to leave a one word comment – destash?” But you beat me to it!!
I’m a procrastinator too – big time. And indulging myself? Get in line – I guarantee I have you beat. So what are we going to do about it??
I’ll be watching for proof of progress in the form of destash listings.

Francesca, you crack me up! I spent all day yesterday sorting and taking photos. Here’s hoping I can get more done today and tomorrow, with listings up in a few more days. I honestly don’t know how bead suppliers do this day in and day out!
Well, you don’t have the monopoly on procrastination! I think I do. Seriously though. It seems like so many of us have it that maybe procrastination is the norm and it’s the ones who don’t procrastinate are the ones with the problem.
Enjoy the blogging break!
You know who are the best people at not procrastinating?? Super busy people. I remember carrying a ton of classes my senior year of college, most of which were studio art classes, having four or five part time jobs, and still managing to get everything done.
Good to know I’m not the only one who has a problem staying on track!
Brandi, it’s funny because you sure hide your procrastination habit well. I would have never taken you for a procrastinator. Now you know though, that is my middle name!!
I think you do know that.
I think your blog break is really the perfect solution. No need to worry about what to post when…it truly takes up so much time, time that you need to spend on your other projects too! My blog breaks are more in the form of just blogging once a week…. life just keep happening in between blog posts! And this year I’m really trying to manage my time more efficiently. It is really helping me.

I’m really good at looking busy, Cindy! Hahahhaha!
I’ve been thinking of maybe cutting back on blogging a little, maybe not quite so much per week, but I haven’t decided yet if that was a good thing or not.
Thanks for the encouraging words!
You’ve brought up an interesting topic there, Brandi. The thin line separating ‘relaxing’ and ‘indulging.’ Oh gawd, you’re so right! And I hate that you’re so right! lol
I too have been doing lots and lots of ‘indulging,’ characterized by the same symptoms you described above! *sigh*
Here’s to overcoming procrastination and excessive indulging (hee hee). See you back to blogging soon, dear friend!

This is one time that I’m sad to be so right! But sometimes indulging is needed, you know?
Well good for you for taking some time out – it’s essential to regain focus. I agree with Cindy, I would never have taken you for a procrastinator you always seems to be so productive. For my part, I can’t wait to see you back and blogging.
