That quote above has been on my mind for the past week. I’ve been muttering it as a kind of mantra the past few days, and I feel like I’ve been really living it the last seven! It’s been an eye-opening experience, watching and catching myself doing what has become daily tasks that are really procrastination attempts in disguise. Staying focused was challenging, let me tell you.
Anyway, you know I took last week off to tackle two big projects, right – sorting destash beads and getting material done for my Elements class. I also used my time off to begin renovations and a move for Freshly Hued (it’ll be part of the blog shortly), tweak a few things on the blog, line up a few guest posts (March’s theme is going to be great), plan two vacations, and spring clean my office. I was on a roll.
It’s been a crazy time over here at Casa de Brandi, and I’ll spare you the boring details except to say that I’ve made definite progress on my class material (I’m about halfway done, which feels awesome), and I have managed to get my destash beads sorted, priced, photographed, edited, and listed (which was an event onto itself – how to bead suppliers do this every day?).
Honestly, looking at what’s done when compared to all of the things I had to do to get here, it doesn’t look like a lot at all because most of it was behind-the-scenes stuff. There are still more beads to be sorted and listed, still more class work and fine tuning left to do, I still need to clean the closets, and it’s a very good thing I like editing photos because there were several hundred to go through. I could have (and wanted to) extend the break out another week, but keeping that “work expands” quote in my mind, I figured let’s stick to my original deadline. And after a week of crazy busy days, I’m exhausted, but kind of proud at what I managed to do.
More on my class as that project progresses, but as for the destash? It’s all right over here. More will be coming (because I haven’t even gotten started on the findings yet, oy), but at least this is a start, right?
What’s been going on with you?
P.S. If you’re looking for the boros, I’ve got them photographed, just not listed in the destash shop right yet. Email me if you want to take a peek at them.

It’s tough when you’re the ‘honey’ in the ‘honey do list.’ Me, too! And it’s amazing how it seems like items just magically appear on the list. Sometimes it feels like one step forward, two steps backward. It does sound like you got a ton of stuff accomplished. My problem with being a procrastinator is that by the time I actually get around to the list, that there are just so many items on it that I want to give up. I guess slow and steady wins this one.
Oh man, it is SO tough to be the “honey” in the honey-do list! And yes, so many little tasks kept appearing – it was a little hard to keep things focused and under control last week. I had to relearn how to prioritize everything…
Congrats on all of your progress, Brandi!! Wow. Your beads are arranged so nicely and the photos sure sell them…and then the descriptions! I can see why this was such a large task! I’m glad to hear your PSE class is coming along…I can only imagine what an endeavor that must be!

Thanks, Cindy! It feels good to at least have it started and set up!
Congrats on all that progress! WOOT! I’m a little jealous, actually – I am longing for a sabbatical, starting with a week of sleeping and doing not much of anything strenuous, followed by a few weeks of completely ruthless closet and garage cleaning, paper shredding, book and clothing donating, and deep down house cleaning. (Followed by another week of sleeping and doing not much of anything strenuous!)
This is a safe longing, because I work a full-time job, and the likelihood anything like this would ever happen is pretty slim.
So… jealous. Enjoy the time. You’re really blessed!!
Praying for you on the journey…

It’s been a crazy week, for sure. I’m determined to keep the momentum up, and I’m dangling a vacation in late April in front of me to keep me motivated, lol!
yay you for getting some work done, I find when I am overwhelmed I just don’t even start anything.
I would like to see the boro’s if you can send me an email that would be great

When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I have to do something to make it stop. And glad you found the boros! Yes, I’m slowly getting them listed.
and I just took time to look at your destash and there they are! thanks

Firstly, I for one, am glad you’re back… there was definitely something missing from my week. Secondly congrats on getting organised and I’ve just been over to your bead listings and oh my! I’m sending my jewellery maker friend over to have a look. And finally, can’t wait to read the guest posts!!!

Thanks, Libby! It’s funny how much I miss blogging when I take some time off. But it was totally needed! Well, I could use another week or two, but I’ll take what I can get.
